Get to know the photographer behind the lens

My photography journey began when I was just 16, behind the lens in my high school journalism class. That’s where I first discovered the joy of storytelling through photos and where I fell in love with capturing the world around me. I’ve always found beauty in wide open spaces, golden light, and the quiet details of everyday life on the plains.
Since then, my passion has grown into Lazy S Photography, a reflection of how much I love the land, the people, and the way of life, wherever I go. My photos aren’t just about looking pretty; they’re about capturing real stories, meaningful moments, and the natural beauty around us. Whether I’m shooting in Southeast Colorado or somewhere far from home, every photo is inspired by a deep appreciation for simple living, strong roots, and the timeless charm of the West.
After losing a dear friend, I took a leap of faith and turned this passion into something more than a hobby. On top of being a mother, student, and employee, I chose to pursue photography as a way to honor life’s fleeting moments. That loss reminded me how important it is to hold on to memories because sometimes, all we have left are the pictures.
Beyond photography, I’m a full time college student pursuing an agribusiness degree while also working full time. I proudly support my husband in running our farm and agricultural spraying company, and when I’m not behind the camera or hitting the books, I’m soaking up every moment with our energetic toddler.
My photographic style is a tribute to the timeless beauty of the places and people I hold dear creating honest, warm, and deeply rooted images that reflect the heart of our community and the lifestyle we live.
